One Size Cloth Diaper

One size cloth diapers are a semi-new development in the world of cloth diapers.  They allow you to use the same cloth diapers for your child as they grow.   Traditional cloth diapers must be purchased in larger sizes as your baby grows.  While this method is still cost effective, one size diapers will save you additional money.  One size diapers come with many different buttons, or snaps, that allow you to special fit the diaper to your baby.  Most one size diapers are categorized by weight, commonly a one size diaper can be used for infants-toddlers weighing between 10 and 30 lbs.  As most parents know your child should weigh slightly over 30 lbs by the time they reach three years old so this type of diaper can be used for your child’s entire infancy.

Another great benefit of one size cloth diapers is that they can be used for multiple children.  If you have two children under the age of 3 then they can conveniently use the same diapers.  This eliminates the need to purchase separate diapers for each of your children.  This is extremely beneficial for busy parents because they will no longer have to sort their children’s diapers.  They are also made to withstand much use so often times you can store them for your next child after one of your children have out grown them.  They are also extremely to repair, if your cloth diaper has a hole or a tear you can whip out a needle and thread and fix it almost instantly.

The largest downfall of one size cloth diapers is the bulk, it is unavoidable.  For smaller, or younger children, there will always be a bit of excess fabric.  Usually one size diapers provide snaps and buttons to hold this excess fabric down so it is out of the way and less inconvenient.  However, the extra bulk of fabric can sometimes make it difficult for you to fit clothing on your child.  You may have to buy bigger clothes for your children merely because their diaper will not fit in smaller sizes.  Most parents don’t mind this, however some do.
